As a young person, I dreamt of becoming an actress, teacher, or child and family therapist, so it made sense that I'd receive my Bachelors in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill to better understand how humans think and engage. After working in child development research for 7 years in NC, I soon realized that I wanted to be a catalyst for improving systems of social change and returned to UNC to receive my Masters in Social Work specializing in Community Practice & Nonprofit Management. Stories were integral in community building work, so I then decided to further my studies to receive technical training in documentary film production through The Documentary Center at George Washington University and Center for Documentary Studies at Duke. I've spent the last 10 years in arts education, documentary storytelling and public media in Washington, DC and NYC.
Now, I'm exploring the great big world of human-centered UX design to make products and experiential design more useful, engaging, and accessible.

My greatest inspiration comes from my family and the vibrant stories they share of our resiliency, migration, adversity, and dreams that keep me rooted in research, storytelling, and engagement work. I'm always called into natural spaces enjoying hiking, biking, kayaking, and gardening. My nomadic spirit & lifestyle has led me to travel all across the US and internationally to Ghana, St. Kitts and Nevis, South Korea, the UK, Mexico, and Canada. I look forward to traveling more across Eastern and Southern Africa and Central and South America for my next trips abroad.
